Who knew Yuma had a Camel Farm? It was pretty cool for only $3 a person and about a 10 minute drive. There were camels, llamas, an ostrich (it was HUGE!), a zebra, a
zedonk, sheep, rabbits, rams, and more! Who needs lions and tigers when you've got
zedonks, right?!
And, just to keep things interesting in the Walker household, Trent's lip swelled up as we got to the camel farm. On the way over, he was saying his lip hurt, so I tossed him some
chapstick. He constantly has chapped lips. When we were getting out of the car, he said his lip still hurt and I could see it was quite swollen....just like it does when he has shrimp (of which he's allergic). Except he hadn't had anything to eat for a few hours. Thankfully, Christina, who rode with us to the camel farm, remembered that Trent had been playing with a balloon in the back seat, something from a birthday party at school a few days ago, and wondered if it was a latex allergy. And then, I remembered that after Trent's last dentist appointment he had a slight red rash on his face and the dentist asked if he was allergic to latex. At the time, I didn't think much of it because you'd think we'd have run into this with his numerous doctor visits and open-heart surgeries.....but things can change. So, I'm taking him to his doctor on Thursday to have him tested.
